Reinforced Concrete 1

  • 30 Hours

Description

This course provides knowledge about the loads and load combinations acting on reinforced concrete structures. Analysis and design of rectangular beams and one-way slabs, T-beams, and doubly-reinforced beams. Development length of reinforcement. Deflections and cracks. Design and analysis of columns subject to axial load and bending.

Outline

1.      Introduction to reinforced concrete-materials.

2.      Behavior of ductile and brittle modes of failure of R C sections under bending.

3.      Analysis and design of R C sections under bending.

4.      Design for Shear Reinforcement.

5.      Calculations of development length.

6.      Design for crack control.

7.      Analysis and design of R C Short Columns under axial loads and bending.

8.       Design of one-way solid and ribbed slabs.
