Structural Analysis 2

  • 35 Hours

Description

The main objective of this course is to familiarize our students with the analysis of statically indeterminate structures using both classical and computer-based matrix structural analysis methods, realizing that most of the civil engineering structures designed today are statically indeterminate. This course will not only reinforce and extend the student’s knowledge in the analysis of structures, but also will provide them with modern engineering techniques and computer-based tools to analyze structures encountered in the civil engineering practice.

Outline

1.     Analysis of Statically Indeterminate Structures by the Force Method.

2.     Displacement Method of Analysis: Slope-Deflection Equations.

3.     Displacement Method of Analysis: Moment Distribution.

4.     Truss Analysis Using the Stiffness Method.

5.     Beam Analysis Using the Stiffness Method.

6.     Plane Frame Analysis Using the Stiffness Method.
